Positive Behavior Interventions & Support (PBIS)

  • Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports is part of the Oregon School District's Multi-Level Systems of Support Model that addresses academic, social/emotional, behavioral, and mental health wellness needs of students.

  • Oregon Middle School is a Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) school. PBIS is a school-wide system of support that includes behavior expectations, activities and acknowledgements to help improve student performance and school climate. Students helped develop our OMS matrix (below) of expected behaviors, and these expectations are explicitly taught and reinforced. At OMS, we have both staff and student PBIS teams participating in decision making regarding our school wide expectations and the teaching of behavior, acknowledgements and OMS Live (our school wide news show that airs during Connections).

For questions related to PBIS at OMS, please contact Associate Principal Jason Zurawik at jtzurawik@oregonsd.net or 608-835-4802.
