Work Permit

Anyone under the age of 16 is required to have a work permit before being allowed to work in any job (with the exception of agriculture or domestic service). Employers must have a work permit on file before work begins.

What You Must Bring to Receive Your Permit

Please make sure to bring all of the following when getting your permit. We are unable to issue permits without all of these items.
- Proof of age (birth certificate, driver’s license/state issued identification or baptism certificate)
- Original social security card
- Employer letter expressing intent to hire, job duties and work hours
- Written parental consent
- Permit fee of $10 cash or check (reimbursed by employer during first pay period)

Please note: As of June 23, 2017, a work permit is NOT required for anyone over the age of 16.
