Currently Seeking Food Delivery Volunteers

  • We are looking for volunteers to help deliver food to students in our community. Volunteers can sign up hereThe OSD Meal Serice program is available to all families regardless of need and provides an important service. The delivery has been a popular option as it meets many needs  (e.g., food insecurity, children who are home alone, parents/guardians who are working at home and supporting children with learning).

    All volunteers receive a free Panther pullover! The ideal volunteer needs:

    • A valid driver’s license;
    • An SUV or other vehicle to fit a cooler that can be up to 40x20x20;
    • Auto insurance;
    • The ability to lift 40 pounds;
    • A smartphone that can run our app for the routes;
    • Availability from about 9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (at least one day a week M-F);
    • The willingness to complete a virtual training; and
    • A positive and fun attitude!

    Volunteers would pick up a cooler from Netherwood Knoll Elementary School (NKE) around 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. and deliver food to students who live in our school district community. Routes take about two hours and could be around 30 miles total. Once your route is finished, you would return the cooler to NKE. We will provide disposable gloves. We can print route maps for you if you don’t have a smartphone.

    We need volunteers Monday - Friday so as many days as you can volunteer would be great. Shifts start as soon as Monday, September 14.  If you are interested, please complete this form or call Sarah Reisen at 608-835-4052.
